The EPA is currently investigating instances where propane has been marketed and used as a substitute for HCFC-22 (R-22), a widely used refrigerant in home air conditioning systems.
The Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) and the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH) have agreed to a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to establish “a framework for cooperation in the continued development of the plumbing and heating industries through communication and cooperation.”
