"It’s exciting to be part of such a broadly based program that is dedicated to helping instructors in all parts of the country," said Mach. "The coming year offers many opportunities to expand what we have done in the past. These include publication next year of the fourth edition of ARI's Refrigeration and Air Conditioning textbook plus development of presentations by industry experts at the Instructor Workshop on topics like wireless technology, variable speed motors, and troubleshooting hydronic systems."
During his first week on the job, Mach said, he wrote to HVACR training instructors to offer assistance and pledge ARI’s support to help school’s recruit students, provide scholarships (www.reesscholarship.org), and undertake programmatic accreditation through the Partnership for Air Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration Accreditation (www.pahrahvacr.org).
"After spending many years in the classroom," stated Mach, "I understand how teachers can benefit from resources that help their students. That’s why one of my first steps was to join the Council of Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Educators (www.carehvacr.org) so that I can listen to the ideas and share experiences with instructors committed to the highest standards of excellence."
A graduate of Susquehanna University, Mach holds masters degrees from George Washington University and the U.S. Naval War College. He is a qualified chief engineer, steam and diesel propulsion plant operations, and a U.S. Navy veteran whose service ranged from squadron commander to professor at the U.S. Naval Academy and the Naval War College.
