ARLINGTON, VA — Combined U.S. factory shipments of 687,838 central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps for July jumped 17% compared to shipments from the same month last year, according to Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) statistics.
Year-to-date combined unitary shipments of 4,603,077 are up 6% from January-July 2001.
Heat pump shipments included in the July 2002 figures totaled 128,774, which is up 9% compared to July 2001. Their year-to-date total of 971,291 is up 4% compared to the same period last year.
