The S-4T refrigeration trainer is a self-contained training unit that allows students to build a working refrigeration and heating system. A see-through Plexiglas guard is placed over the rear plenum wall to provide protection from circular fan blades, cold evaporator coils, and hot heater elements. Instructors have the ability to inject real-world failures or faults into the trainer for students to trouble-shoot and repair. The unit can be tailored to meet the needs of students with a wide range of skill sets and experience levels, from beginner to advanced. By incorporating metering devices and components, such as expansion valves and capillary tubes, the trainer can be set up to simulate low-, medium-, or high-temperature refrigeration cycles. Casters are included; when not in use, the trainer can be moved into storage.
