ToughGardâ„¢ duct liner with enhanced surface is an HVAC duct liner made with a surface coating with enhanced moisture-repellent properties, states the company. The coating preserves the sound-dampening performance of the duct liner by allowing sound waves to pass through the open-cell structure and into the sound-absorbing glass fiber mat, the company says. The airstream surface contains an EPA-registered antimicrobial agent, which is intended to reduce the potential of microbial growth. The liner has an edge coating, Certa*Edgeâ„¢, which seals the edge fibers and ensures coverage of the transverse edges with coating, the manufacturer says. The duct liner is a flexible blanket composed of glass fibers bonded together with a thermosetting resin.
