DALLAS — Air Vent Inc., a manufacturer of ridge ventilation products, has released a new video and DVD called “Forces of Nature,” which shows how extreme weather conditions can affect a home’s attic ventilation system.

According to Marianne Horvat, vice president, marketing, the 17-minute video, featuring contractor testimonials, shows how excessive heat, moisture and humidity, and wind-driven precipitation can cause premature shingle deterioration and lead to structural damage of a home if proper ridge vent systems are not installed.

“For nearly 30 years, Air Vent has been at the forefront of attic ventilation research and product design,” Horvat said. “The field experience and testing results featured in this video demonstrate Air Vent’s dedication to the research and development of ridge vent systems that battle the forces of nature, including wind, heat, and moisture.”

Featured in the video is footage of testing by the University of Florida at Gainesville, which compared Air Vent’s ShingleVent® II to other ridge vent designs. The results show how ShingleVent II offers weather protection and “exceptional” performance in increasing airflow and heat reduction.
