AR-GLO® fluorescent dye is a refrigerant leak detection dye. To use, add a small amount of the dye into a system and permit it to circulate. The dye will mark each spot where the refrigerant escapes. The system can then be scanned with a high-intensity ultraviolet lamp. The residual dye glows a bright yellow-green to reveal the exact location of all leaks, says the company. It remains in the system until the oil is changed. It can be used with commonly used refrigerants, including R-134a and blends.
