Wednesday – January 16, 2002: UL Announces New Gas-Fired Listing Mark
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) launched a new Gas-Fired Listing Mark at a press conference at the AHR Expo here. The mark was developed to demonstrate to consumers, distributors, and regulatory authorities that gas-fired products so marked have been evaluated to nationally recognized standards relating to both gas and electrical safety.
The new Gas-Fired Listing Mark replaces UL's prior Classification Mark for gas-fired products. It will apply to residential, commercial, and industrial products.
UL hopes to have implementation dates within three months and to implement the mark within a year.
