Nonwoven polyester fabric is now standard on all of the company’s SPIROsafe® double-wall duct components, regardless of duct size or shape. This thin, mesh-like fabric is placed between the insulation and perforated inner duct in order to keep fiberglass strands out of the system. According to the manufacturer, this fabric provides fiber tear retention in the system and maintains the desired acoustical properties in the double wall so attenuating performance is not compromised.
