The SPIROsafe® duct systems are supplied with patented, factory-installed, double-lipped sealing gaskets. According to the company, the fittings slip into the spiral duct, and the highly durable gaskets form a tight seal against the duct wall; no caulking or taping is required. The duct systems have factory-controlled dimensional tolerances to ±0.25% and are functional in temperatures ranging between -20 to 212 degrees F, the company says. EPDM rubber gaskets conform to ASTM E84-91a and NFPA 90A flame-spread and smoke developed ratings of 25/50, states the manufacturer.
