The PLC Pilot™ application software package allows users to monitor and control programmable logic controllers (PLCs) from personal digital assistant-powered mobile devices. It eliminates the need for a PC when interfacing to the devices in the field, and provides a general-purpose touch pad interface for reading and writing to the PLCs, the manufacturer says. It is designed for engineers and field service personnel who want to eliminate the need for laptops and PCs to supervise PLC-based equipment, and for OEMs as an OEM software component for integration and private-label resale in conjunction with PLC-based products sold by OEMs.
