McQuay International: self-contained A/C system
This 145-ton version of the company’s SWP vertical, self-contained air conditioning system is for new construction applications. The increased tonnage allows larger floor spaces to be conditioned with a single unit. Benefits compared to using multiple smaller units include less design work, less supporting equipment, lower installation cost, lower energy costs, and reduced maintenance costs, says the company. The unit can achieve part-load efficiencies as low as 0.45 kW/ton, the manufacturer says.
