RenewAire Introduces an ERV for Small Residential Spaces

SERIES LAUNCH: The Evergreen SH, from RenewAire, is the first model in the company's Evergreen Series of residential energy recovery ventilators (ERVs).
WAUNAKEE, WI — RenewAire has introduced the Evergreen SH, the first model in the Evergreen Series of residential energy recovery ventilators (ERVs). The Evergreen SH uses single-point exhaust to condition outdoor air for optimum IAQ and energy efficiency.
The Evergreen SH is a three-duct ERV with a built-in return grille plus ducted supply, exhaust, and outside airstreams. Designed for localized air extraction, the Evergreen SH is ideal for bathrooms, laundry rooms, and smaller residential units such as apartments and condominiums, a RenewAire press release said.
The Evergreen SH is a compact, ceiling-mounted ERV that provides an airflow range of between 25 and 130 cfm. The unit simultaneously exhausts humid, odorous air and supplies fresh, tempered outdoor air directly to a nearby room or HVAC duct. Fresh outdoor air is tempered with the use of RenewAire’s fifth-generation energy recovery core, which pulls energy from the exhaust and transfers it to the supply without the two airstreams coming into contact or mixing within the core.
The unit operates as a single-speed device at any of the three preprogrammed quick-select minimum airflows, or anywhere within the full operating range with the variable-airflow setpoint.
The Evergreen SH has a small footprint and a low profile, enabling it to fit inside most ceiling joists or ceiling cavity configurations; 5-inch oval exhaust and supply connections; and integrated steel mounting flanges. The unit requires minimal maintenance other than changing the return air and outdoor air filters, which are easily accessible, the press release said.
Other Evergreen SH features include standard MERV 7 filtration (MERV 13 filtration for the outside air slot is optional), flexible control with the use of any 120 V accessory such as a light switch or fan timer, and a 10-year structural and performance warranty for the static-plate core.
