Ladies stepping into Hudson’s could enjoy a touch of high-class comfort while browsing the latest fashions — no longer hurried by the summer heat, but lingering in cool, refined air. And for merchants: installations could increase sales volume by more than sixteen percent, as customers stayed longer and spent more freely. The advice was simple: attract new patrons, hold on to loyal customers, and encourage greater purchases per visit. Fast forward to today, 2026, and HVAC is once again tied to a major business opportunity — but this time, it’s data centers. As residential demand slows, commercial HVAC — especially data centers — has become a major growth driver for manufacturers like Carrier and Trane. But emerging cooling technologies, including advanced liquid cooling systems, are starting to raise questions about how much traditional HVAC equipment will be needed. For contractors, it’s a reminder: technology may change, but HVAC’s role in supporting business growth isn’t going anywhere.
