As temperatures drop and furnaces fire up, homeowners are counting on comfort — and contractors are counting on reliable, easy-to-use thermostats that deliver it. This heating season, the latest lineup of smart and connected controls is helping pros save time on setup while giving customers more comfort, energy savings, and insight into their home systems. From AI-powered zoning for ductless units to advanced diagnostics that help contractors stay connected long after the install, these thermostats are redefining what “smart” means for the modern HVAC pro.

Cielo

The Cielo Breez Edge Pro is an AI-powered smart thermostat designed exclusively for ductless systems — ideal for mini splits, PTACs, window units, and portable a/c units. Compatible with any ductless system that uses an IR remote with a display, the Breez Edge Pro uses Cielo’s advanced AI technology to auto-detect the manufacturer and model with just a simple point-and-click setup. Powered by the patent-pending Comfy Max intelligent control, Cielo thermostats prevent temperature overshoot by automatically maintaining the desired comfort range — reducing overheating or overcooling. Set the preferred range once, and Comfy Max takes care of the rest. When the home is empty, geofencing automation adjusts temperatures automatically, cutting unnecessary heating or cooling to save energy. With Cielo Breez Edge, multizone systems run smoothly, with no mode conflict, keeping different zones comfortable as desired, without any barriers. For properties with multiple types of HVAC systems, Cielo Linked, the cloud-based platform, integrates all systems for unified, smart control. Added features like a PIN lock protect thermostat settings, while the free Cielo Home App gives fast, easy access to heating and cooling from anywhere. All these smart features are designed to help customers save up to 25% on heating and cooling bills.

The ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium combines sleek, modern design with advanced technology to provide easy installation for pros and deliver exceptional comfort and efficiency for homeowners. Featuring built-in dual HVAC accessory support and Pro First Run setup flow, the Smart Thermostat Premium gives pros access to deep configuration settings for optimal performance and has everything needed for installation in the box. Powered by ecobee’s most sophisticated sensor technology, the thermostat delivers precise temperature readings, and enhanced occupancy and motion detection, helping homeowners automatically save up to 26% annually on heating and cooling, compared to a hold of 72°F. With the included ecobee SmartSensor, families can manage hot and cold spots in key rooms and transform the thermostat into a home monitoring hub with ecobee Smart Security. A larger, vibrant display makes the thermostat easier to use, and integration with all the leading smart home assistants ensures full compatibility. Plus, it’s a smart thermostat with an indoor air quality monitor, an embedded smart speaker, and built-in smoke alarm detection. Professionals can order through their preferred wholesale partner, with access to a dedicated Pro Support line. When installed by a pro, the thermostat comes with a 5-year warranty. The thermostat is also compatible with most 24 VAC HVAC systems.

Meet the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen), designed with professionals in mind. It’s faster to install, more customizable than ever, and compatible with complex systems. The new Smart Schedule gives customers more control and cuts down on callbacks. And with tools like HVAC System Health Monitor, it helps build long-term customer relationships and expand business. The Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) has a redesigned backplate with 12 terminals, so it works in almost any home. It’s ASHRAE 62.2 compliant, and it’s compatible with up to three stages of heat and two for cool for conventional systems, or up to 4H 2C for heat pumps and hybrid heat. The Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) comes with HVAC System Health Monitor, a popular feature with customers — and a big opportunity for business. It looks out for issues and lets customers know when something might be wrong. If technicians enter the Nest Pro ID at installation, customers will get an HVAC system alert with the contracting company’s contact info, so it’s easy for them to contact someone when they need their contractor the most.
