Bosch Debuts R-454B Versions of Water-Source Heat Pumps
NEW MODEL: A Bosch water-source CP Split Heat Pump. Bosch Home Comfort has released R-454B versions of its CP Split Heat Pump, which is designed for commercial use, and its RP Split Heat Pump, which is for residential use.
WATERTOWN, Mass. — Bosch Home Comfort has unveiled new R-454B versions of the Bosch CP Split Heat Pump and the RP Split Heat Pump, in compliance with low-GWP A2L refrigerant requirements.
These latest models utilize the lower-GWP refrigerant R-454B while continuing to offer a simple and seamless installation, making it easy and effortless to cool and heat in keeping with the slogan #LikeABosch, a company press release said.
The water-source Bosch CP Split Heat Pump delivers powerful performance and flexible installation options for a wide range of commercial applications, the press release said.
The Energy Star-certified, water-source Bosch RP Split Heat Pump is a high-efficiency unit for residential applications, the press release said. Homeowners who install the RP Split could qualify for incentives of up to 30% of the cost of installation.
Both heat pump units feature:
• A compact cabinet design that makes them choices for tight spaces.
• A two-stage scroll compressor: Available in capacities of 2 tons to 5 tons, the two-stage scroll compressor adjusts output to demand.
• Quiet operation: Half-inch, close-cell foam insulation and a floating compressor base allow for operation at sound levels as low as 51 dB.

• Application versatility: Either unit can be paired with the Bosch BV20 variable-speed air handler, or, in a dual-fuel system, the Bosch BMAC multi-position cased evaporator coil.
