BRANTFORD, Ontario, Canada — For the second year in a row, Copeland has been recognized as Energy Star Canada Manufacturer of the Year in the heating and cooling equipment category for its Sensi Smart thermostats.

The honor complements the Energy Star Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence award, which was announced earlier this year in the U.S., and also reinforces the company’s global commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency, a press release from Copeland said.

“Congratulations to Copeland on winning a 2023 Energy Star Canada award. Your efforts are driving innovation in energy efficiency, helping Canadians to save money on energy bills and contributing to the fight against climate change,” said Jonathan Wilkinson, Canada’s minister of energy and natural resources. “The Government of Canada is pleased to support energy efficiency solutions as we advance to a sustainable and prosperous future.”

Energy Star-certified Sensi smart thermostats can help consumers reduce HVAC equipment energy usage when adjusting the temperature using flexible scheduling, remote access, and geofencing, the company said. Sensi thermostats empower consumers to control their home temperature from anywhere in the world through their phone, using the Sensi mobile app.

“With heating and cooling being significant contributors to overall energy use in a home, the opportunity to lessen that impact and drive sustainability come from technology such as a smart thermostat,” said Ryan Garrah, vice president for Copeland Canada. “We’re proud to not only help consumers use energy more efficiently while saving money, but also to continue providing smart, sustainable solutions that will help ensure the betterment of the planet.”
