MT. PROSPECT, Ill. — The ESCO Institute announced that Jason Obrzut has been appointed as its director of industry standards and relations. Obrzut has over 20 years of experience in the HVACR industry, having served as a service technician, company owner, instructor, department chair, and director of education. In 2015, he received the title of Certified Master HVACR Educator (CMHE). In 2016, he took first place in HVAC Excellence’s first annual Teachers-N-Trainers (TnT) competition and was named one of the "Top 40 Under 40" in the HVAC industry by The ACHR News.

In his new role as director of industry standards and relations, Obrzut will oversee legislative issues impacting the HVACR and building science fields and will serve as ESCO’s liaison to government and industry regulatory groups. In addition to other responsibilities, he presently serves on AHRI’s Safe Refrigerant Transition Task Force.
