SUWANEE, Ga. — Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. Cooling & Heating Division (Mitsubishi Electric), held its 2017 Diamond Leadership Conference at the Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain in Marana, Arizona, from February 25–28. The annual conference, with a theme of vision, dedication, and success — included nearly 400 distributors, sales reps, and employees who celebrated a successful year as well as new programs, products, and strategies for 2017. 
 
Participants attended general sessions presented by Mitsubishi Electric senior executives, as well as discussion groups and breakout sessions. Topics included technology, channel-specific training program support, and new initiatives, such as the High Performance Building program. Guest speakers, including keynote speakers, Jason Jennings, a successful business author, and John Maketa, a senior business strategist and demographer, offered insights into business best practices and future demand and demographics of the U.S. market.
 
“This year we are embracing forward engineering — we are taking our most successful leadership and sales strategies and applying those best practices to the support we offer our sales force, distributors, and sales rep leaders,” said Mark Kuntz, deputy general manager, Mitsubishi Electric US Inc., Cooling & Heating Division. “We are proud of the network we have built for our professional and consumer customers and will continue to focus on quality, service, and innovation.”

TOP AWARDS

Mitsubishi Electric presents several awards each year during the conference to recognize the success of its channel leaders in areas of sales, market development, and service. The categories are: Diamond Leadership Award, Business Unit Diamond Leadership Award, Design Excellence Award, Crowning Achievement Award, and Crowning Achievement Award — Millionaires Club.

This year’s prestigious Diamond Leadership Award, which honors the channel leader that has performed above all others, was awarded to Johnstone Supply — The Ware Group, for residential and applied product solutions for commercial business.

The Business Unit Diamond Leadership Awards are traditionally presented to a single channel leader in each of Mitsubishi Electric’s five business units. This year, however, there were a few business units that tallied multiple winners. The following companies were recognized this year:

  • Northeast — ABCO HVACR Supply + Solutions, Jessup Maryland and Luce, Schwab & Kase, Fairfield, New Jersey

  • West Residential — US Air Conditioning Distributors, Industry, California

ADDITIONAL AWARDS

Nationwide, 17 Diamond Leaders earned the Crowning Achievement Award and 21 Diamond Leaders earned the Crowning Achievement Award – Millionaires Club.
