Lebanon, Pa. — Following weeks of negotiating and strategizing, APR Supply Co. is prepared to announce the acquisition of W.G. Balph Company. The transition began June 2014, with the completion of a four-branch addition to be completed with the subsequent year. W.G. Balph Company is a plumbing, heating and HVAC distributor founded in 1926 by Bill Ralph. In 1995, ownership of the company passed to the MacVitties. The business operated two branch locations – one in Pittsburgh, PA and the other in Greensburg, PA.

“The acquisition of Balph Company represents a continuation of APR’s aggressive growth strategy. More specifically, this move is an extension of our existing joint venture business model,” said David Robinson, COO at APR Supply Co.

The two Balph locations will eventually be supplemented by two additional APR Supply Co. locations in the Pittsburgh market, thanks to APR’s joint venture relationship with Schaedler Yesco, a distributor of electrical supplies and equipment. The two companies currently share 10 branch locations.
