AUSTIN, Texas — Allure Energy Inc. selected Kodiak Systems — a local contract manufacturer— to manufacture EverSense™ in Austin, Texas.

"Over the last year we spent a lot of time evaluating foreign and domestic manufacturing options for building EverSense," said Kevin Imes, CEO of Allure Energy. "When we compared all of the costs, financial or otherwise, we quickly converged on securing a domestic manufacturing resource as our contract manufacturer."

In addition to local manufacturing, Allure Energy chose several local semiconductor providers as a part of their product offering including components made by Freescale Semiconductor, Cirrus Logic, and Silicon Labs.

"Using a local manufacturer and suppliers provides us a competitive advantage,” said Imes. “It also allows us to create jobs both internal to Allure Energy, and within the Austin community. It's a win-win across the board.”

EverSense is a green, smart energy product that includes wireless thermostat control that also uses location-based services within a mobile app to adjust a thermostat's settings. Apps will be available for iPhone and Android users. The EverSense system includes other features, such as speakers for wirelessly streaming audio, a weather application with animated radar, and an energy tips application to educate consumers on energy saving products and services.

"During the design phase for EverSense, I challenged our team to create a final assembly process that would take less than 5 minutes per system," Imes explained. "They responded by reducing the assembly process to less than 1 minute. With the reduced build time, we are able to compete with foreign manufacturers."
