LAS VEGAS — Allure Energy Inc. has unveiled a new combination of iBeacon and NFC-enabled smart sensor technology called Aura™, and has been named an International CES Innovations 2014 Design and Engineering Awards honoree for EverSense™, a smart thermostat that automatically adjusts temperature based on a user’s GPS location.

EverSense is a Wi-Fi touchscreen thermostat featuring patented Proximity Control Technology™. Using the Eversense mobile app for iPhone or Android, proximity control manages the home’s temperature and energy usage based on how far, or near, each user may be from their residence. As homeowners leave their dwelling, the indoor environment in their home is altered based on how far away they are. As they return, EverSense automatically creates the ideal environment they want.

Thermostats are traditionally placed primarily in hallways and other out of the way places. Often the temperature in the hallway is different than in other rooms of the home. A comfortable temperature in the hallway doesn’t necessarily ensure comfort when cooking in a crowded kitchen or watching TV in the living room. Aura for EverSense is designed to solve this problem.

Aura combines both near field communication (NFC) for Android® devices and Bluetooth low energy (BLE) for Apple’s® new iBeacon Technology into a single form factor. By placing a patent pending Aura sensor in a room, the Eversense mobile apps for iPhone or Android can detect that room’s temperature and adjust it accordingly.

“We are trying to enhance the user experience for the majority of our customers by providing Aura,” said Jim Mills, vice president of business development at Allure Energy. “With Aura, we can now create the perfect home environment on a room by room basis, further enhancing the user experience in the home.”

A release date for Aura has not yet been announced. When released, Aura will be compatible with the current EverSense and can be purchased separately.
