Luxaire® Climasure™ Single-Piece Air Handler

The new Luxaire Climasure single-piece air handler includes both a blower and evaporator coil in one compact cabinet. Available in 1.5- to 5.0-ton capacities, the unit uses a permanent split capacitor (PSC) motor and offers three-way, multi-position capabilities (upflow, horizontal left or right). Compatible with R-22 and R-410A refrigerants, the units are designed to use a bolt-on thermal expansion valve (TXV) for easy conversion to the required refrigerant. In addition, field-installed electric heat options provide cost-effective supplemental heat. A positive-sloped drain pan eliminates standing water that can breed germs, and internal filter racks are provided for use with 1-inch thick standard size filters.

VCS

The VCS Ventilation Control System is a low cost fresh air control system designed to improve residential IAQ. This is accomplished by introducing fresh air through an intake damper controlled by the VCS logic panel. The VCS dramatically increases IAQ by decreasing VOCs. According to the company, the system is easy to install and set up, meets the ASHRAE 62.2 standard, and is backed by a five year warranty. The use of the quick reference chart allows the contractor to simplify the selection of the ventilation cycle to meet ASHRAE 62.2 standard and the easy-to-use dial also helps the contractor set the proper cycle in a matter of seconds without having to complete any complicated formulas.

Solar Plexicon Heating/Cooling Displacement Diffuser

The Plexicon uses displacement principles to cool and mixed airflow principles to heat the occupied space. It provides many benefits to the contractor. With this product contractors are not required to install a secondary heating system including ductwork, diffusers, and controls. The unit is easy to install and balance. Contractors can change the discharge airflow direction according to space design changes without physically relocating the diffuser. The Plexicon is an energy harvesting, self-powered unit so contractors don’t have to bring in line power, provide transformers, or wire the units.
