hilmor Launches 2015 Retool Your Future Scholarship Competition
Company to award six HVACR students with scholarships, tools, and more
EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. — HVACR tool manufacturer, hilmor®, has announced its third annual Retool Your Future Scholarship Contest. Designed to help current and future HVACR students get top-of-the-line tools in their hands as they begin their careers, the scholarship contest awards six grand prizes consisting of a $5,000 scholarship, a trip to the 2016 AHR Expo in Orlando, Florida, and a set of hilmor tools. Students can enter this year's competition at www.retoolyourfuture.com.
The company noted that the contest has received more than a thousand student entries from hundreds of trade schools over the last two years since its inception, supporting the next generation of HVACR technicians.
“We in the industry have a responsibility to encourage careers in HVACR, which is why we developed the Retool Your Future program,” said Andrea Halpin, hilmor’s senior manager, brand marketing. “hilmor prides itself on bringing innovative tools to HVACR technicians, and the most important time to introduce these tools is when students are going through their training and preparing to enter the industry.”
The contest is open to students in the United States and Canada. Each winner will receive a starter kit of HVACR tools essential for beginning their career. In addition, the winners will have a hilmor Green Wall, consisting of more than 40 HVACR tools valued at $5,000, donated to their school.
To enter the Retool Your Future contest, students who are currently enrolled in or have applied for admission to an established, recognized HVACR school, can submit a 250-word essay explaining how the industry will “retool their life.” The contest closes on Oct. 31, 2015.
