The DCT419 handheld wall scanner can detect wood, ferrous and non-ferrous metal, plastic, and unshielded live electric wiring behind multiple wall surfaces, including drywall, plywood, concrete, and ceramic tile at a sensing depth of up to 3 inches. The handheld wall scanner is used to scan up to a 9.8-foot wall section in a straight line, either vertically or horizontally. Multiple sensors inside the tool register material type that is most likely behind the wall surface and the detection results are displayed on a 3.5-inch color LCD screen. The handheld wall scanner features a pre-scan mapping mode that eliminates the need to calibrate or choose between settings. The first pass over the wall surface maps all the detected embedded materials. When the user reverses the direction, the embedded materials detected are displayed. It also includes a tracking bar that counts the number of embedded materials detected in a scan.
