ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Tecumseh Products Co. announced that Gene Fields has joined the company as vice president, Global Engineering. In his new role, Fields will lead Tecumseh’s global engineering initiatives, including research and development, new product development, performance/reliability testing, and ongoing production support. He will report to Jim Connor, president and CEO.

Fields’ experience includes engineering leadership roles at LG Electronics, Danfoss, Scroll Technologies Inc., and Bristol Compressors. He was most recently global director of Compressor Research & Development for LG Electronics in South Korea. During Fields’ early career, he also held various engineering positions with Trane and General Electric.

“Gene Fields brings to Tecumseh a wealth of compressor engineering knowledge and experience, coupled with highly-refined leadership skills,” said Connor. “He will be a key asset to our development of new products and technologies that contribute to Tecumseh’s ongoing industry leadership, especially as it relates to the company’s green initiatives.
