WASHINGTON — The acting administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Bob Perciasepe, has signed the final HCFC Allocation Rule covering HCFC-22 and HCFC-142b allowances for 2012-2014.

The EPA decided to continue to use the same HCFC-22 and HCFC-142b baselines established in the 2011 interim Final Rule, but is reducing the HCFC-22 consumption allocations for 2012-2014 by about 30 percent from the amounts provided in the 2009 Final Rule. The total industry-wide allocation for 2013 is approximately 28,500 MT or approximately 63 million pounds.

The final rule has not yet been published in the Federal Register. However, a prepublication version is available at www.epa.gov/ozone/title6/phaseout/2012-2014HCFCs_web.pdf.

NOTE: On April 3, 2013, the final rule was published in the Federal Register. It is available at www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2013-04-03/pdf/2013-07758.pdf.
