Contractor Receives Safety Award
President/Owner Jimmy Hiller accepted the check, announcing to employees, “We received this check for your efforts of working safely out there and this money belongs to all of you!” Hiller continued, “This check will be distributed back to the field employees.” Approximately 75 employees were on hand for the presentation, as well as representatives from Staff One’s Risk Management and Client Services departments.
Staff One works with business owners to design a safety incentive program specifically for their company and helps its clients reduce workers’ compensation and safety-related costs, passing on the resulting savings to program participants who minimize losses. Hiller Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Co. had a workers’ comp loss ratio of approximately 24 percent when they began working with Staff One in early 2009. Their loss ratio today is a mere 6 percent, entitling them to the full amount of the safety program’s cash-back reward dollars.
“The leadership of Hiller Plumbing has a getting-better agenda; they are the type of client that takes safety very seriously,” said Staff One President Mark Sinatra. “It speaks volumes that what their company’s leadership chose to do with their safety incentive check was to share it with the employees in the field, and further the company’s culture of safety.”
