Contractor receives 2016 safety award

July 2, 2017

Armistead Mechanical Inc. was awarded the 2016 Safety Excellence Award from the Mechanical Contractors Association of America in March during the association’s annual convention in San Diego.

The award recognizes mechanical construction and service companies across the United States that demonstrate the highest level of commitment to safety. CNA Insurance, the official insurance carrier for MCAA, is the co-sponsor of the safety award program.

Armistead Mechanical was recognized in the 250,000 to 400,000 work-hours level, the third of five tiered categories. To be eligible for the award, companies must have safety statistics exceeding the nationwide industry averages and submit a written application detailing its safety program and any initiatives that helped the companies achieve their safety goals.

“Armistead Mechanical is incredibly proud of winning this competitive Safety Excellence Award for the second time in three years,” said Kevin Armistead, chief operating officer at Armistead Mechanical. “Receiving recognition of our sustained commitment to the prevention of workplace injury and illness and the well-being of our employees is extremely gratifying and exemplifies our dedication to our personnel and partners.”
