The work order program generates e-mails summarizing key work order information and sends it to a tech’s BlackBerry. A message can wait for the techs with details on their next job, including a customer’s name and contact information, issue, whether the customer has a service agreement or needs to be billed, and the service history of the appliance or air conditioning unit that needs to be worked on. The techs also receive directions via Google Maps® with GPS tracking. As each job is completed, technicians simply e-mail a summary of the work performed back to the dispatch team to enter in the system. According to the company, the system cuts down on calls into the office and waiting time and note taking by the techs, and allows dispatchers to concentrate more on making routes more efficient.
