July 15, 2002: PowerCold Restructures For Anticipated Expansion And Growth

By Greg Mazurkiewicz
July 15, 2002
LA VERNIA, TX — PowerCold Corporation has announced a major restructuring to reflect the company's anticipated expansion and growth opportunities.

PowerCold CEO Frank Simola said, "We have reorganized our company into three major operating companies that will provide the growth engines for our company in the years ahead. Each of these businesses is headed by a seasoned executive to provide us with the leadership needed to carry us to the next level."

With the reorganization, the company's wholly owned operating subsidiary corporations will be:

  • PowerCold Products Inc., headed by Dean Calton, who also serves as vice president, engineering and manufacturing, for the corporation. PowerCold Products will manufacture and market the company's patented Nauticon™ line of evaporative condensers and chiller packaged systems. The Nauticon units are self-cleaning, chemical-free evaporative condensers for small and mid-sized commercial HVACR systems. Calton, who has over 24 years experience in the industry, holds four U.S. patents in refrigeration.

  • Ultimate Comfort Systems, Inc., headed by Robert Yoho, offering high-efficiency new and retrofit HVAC systems for commercial buildings, including hotels, managed care facilities, office buildings, condominiums, and apartment complexes. Combined with Nauticon evaporative condensers, UCS installations are said to have generated as much as 45% savings in energy costs and maintenance. Yoho has over 30 years in engineering and marketing HVAC systems and holds nine U.S. patents.

  • Alturdyne Energy Systems Inc., headed by Joe Cahill, who also serves as vice president, administration and finance, for the corporation. AES is responsible for marketing the company's power-related products including cogeneration systems, combined heat and power (CHP) systems, natural gas rotary power engines, and generator sets. Cahill is a senior executive with 20 years experience.

The company also announced that Technicold Services Inc., headed by George Briley, a corporate director and secretary, and PowerCold's chief technology officer, will continue to provide consulting services to the HVACR industry. Briley has more than 50 years experience in engineering and marketing in the refrigeration industry.

James Chirieleison was appointed vice president sales and marketing for the corporation, responsible for domestic and international sales and marketing of PowerCold products. He will primarily concentrate on retrofitting the U.S. air conditioning market from air-cooled to evaporative condensers. He will also focus on countries where expanding local growth is resulting in increased demand for air conditioning systems and new power systems. He has over 30 years of experience.
