Oct. 28, 2005: NATE Elects New Board Of Trustees Officers

October 28, 2005
ARLINGTON, Va. - The North American Technician Excellence (NATE) board met and has elected new board of trustees officers for 2005-2006.

Those elected as officers for 2005-2006 are: Scott Boxer (of Service Experts, Richardson, Texas) as chairman; Herman Kling (of International Comfort Products, Lewisburg, Tenn.) as vice chairman; Bob Hawkins (of Alabama Power, Birmingham, Ala.) as vice chairman; and Ray Isaac (of Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning, Rochester, N.Y.), as secretary/treasurer. Randy Tice (of APR Supply, Lebanon, Pa.) assumes the office of immediate past chairman.

Boxer is president of Service Experts, and has been in the industry for 30+ years. He has been managing director of York's European operations, president of York Unitary Products Worldwide, executive vice president of Lennox International, president of its European operations, and president of Lennox Industries. He became president and chief operating officer of Service Experts in 2003, and has served on the board of directors of the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association (GAMA) and the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) prior to sitting on NATE's board.

Kling joined International Comforts Products in 1997 after a 20-year career with GE Appliances. He held the position of vice-president marketing and VP sales and marketing at ICP. Joining Carrier Corp. with the purchase of ICP by Carrier in 1999, he served as vice-president of sales at Carrier from 2001 to 2004. He assumed his current position, president of International Comfort Products, in fall 2004. He has been a member of the NATE board since 2002.

Hawkins brings 35+ years of experience to NATE. He has worked for the Electric Vehicle Association of the Americas, Electric Power Research Institute, and the Southern Coalition for Advanced Transportation. Currently manager, marketing training, at Alabama Power Co., he joined the NATE board in 2002.

Isaac is a third-generation HVAC contractor. Operating from upstate New York, he brings the practical nuts and bolts experience of running an HVAC contracting company to NATE. Also a member of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) board, Isaac has been sitting on the NATE board for two years.

Tice is now the immediate past chairman of the NATE board of which he has been a member since 2000. As the outgoing president of the Heating, Airconditioning, and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI), he has had the distinction of handling both NATE and HARDI leadership obligations at the same time.

Rex Boynton, president of NATE, said, "Individually and collectively, these men bring a tremendous storehouse of experience and knowledge to the NATE board and will help steer us into the next exciting phase of our growth."
