Cooltech Applications S.A.S., a magnetic refrigeration developer, has announced a partnership with Structural Concepts, Muskegon, Michigan, a leading refrigerated display case manufacturer, to integrate Cooltech’s magnetic refrigeration system (MRS) into some of Structural Concepts’ display cases.
The first magnetic cooling system for commercial refrigeration is being commercially launched by French firm Cooltech Applications. The firm said its magnetic refrigeration system (MRS) product line, offering capacities between 200W and 700W, will go on sale using water instead of a refrigerant.

The global magnetic refrigeration market is forecast to reach $315.7 million by 2022, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 98.7 percent between 2017 and 2022, according to a new market research report published by MarketsandMarkets.
Researchers at the A*STAR Institute of Materials Research and Engineering and the National University of Singapore believe they have created a powerful magnetic refrigerant that is easy to make in the lab, reports the nanotechnology journal nanowerk.
New research being done at the University of Cambridge in England is focusing on what is called “magnetic cooling,” based on the straining of materials. The results have been published in the journal Nature Materials and quoted at the www.basqueresearch.com website.
