Editor’s Note: The following remarks were made regarding the “Denying the Science of Climate Change is Irresponsible” commentary, by Herb Woerpel, published May 18 in The NEWS.
THERE WILL ALWAYS BE WEATHER CHANGE
I read your commentary about climate change in May. Do you know the Earth is approximately 4.5 billion years old? Originally, the earth was a molten mass and went into an age of ice. Actual measured temperatures have only been kept since around 1850. Between the 13th and 17th centuries, the weather was actually warmer than it is now. The hole in the ozone layer has filled in.
Global warming was driven by regional selective weather reporting. Yes, there is and always will be weather change. By the way, modern man has only been on the Earth 200,000 years.
Yes, it makes sense not to waste resources of any kind, but I wouldn’t castrate myself to practice birth control. All these so-called experts are getting paid for what, someone else’s financial gain? You bet.
