Is Your Business Embracing Fuel Efficiency?
Summer is officially here. I noticed when driving by the gas station this past Memorial Day weekend and seeing the gas prices hiked up. However, the cost of fuel is down 25 percent, compared to 2015, according to a study from AAA.
Despite the numbers, HVAC contractors are constantly searching for ways to optimize things like fuel efficiency in the field, often times with the help of fleet management software.
Audrey Henderson recently published an article on IE3 examining the pros and cons of alternative fuel vehicles, such as hybrid, all-electric, flex fuel, natural gas, and biodiesel.
“Depending on the types and numbers of vehicles your company operates, financial incentives, including tax credits and deduction, may be available at the federal or state level. You may even save on insurance premiums,” she wrote.
Henderson also noted drawbacks such as increased cost and shorter drive ranges.
