Donald P. Dick, 81, died July 27 at his home in Fresno, California. Dick created Mr. Cool on April 1, 1964. Building on what he had learned, Dick started Donald P. Dick Air Conditioning on Sept. 1, 1970.

Philip A. Jeffers, 56, of Exton, Pennsylvania, died unexpectedly, July 26. Jeffers was president of Energy Design Systems Inc.
