Obituary: Robert Tanner
Robert F. Tanner, 86, of Byrdstown, Tennessee, died Sunday, Feb. 2, at Miami Valley Hospital South. Tanner was born Nov. 15, 1927, in Pleasant Hill, Tennessee, to the late William Edison and Lelia Mae Stanley Tanner.
Tanner was the founder and president of Airtron Inc. and, later, president of Tanner Heating/Air Conditioning.
“Bob was known as a great mentor and developer of people,” said Jim Jennings, former president of Airtron. “Bob was skilled in developing successful business strategies, many of which are still foundational to Airtron’s success today.”
Tanner is survived by his sons, Tom (Tammy) Tanner and Dave Tanner; daughter Kathy Blackburn; grandchildren Jill Tanner, Sara Blackburn, Kevin Blackburn, David Tanner II, Thomas Tanner II, and Sarah Tanner; and brother Rex (Patty) Tanner.
