BACnet International and the BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU) have announced the schedule for the BACnet Global Roadshow 2015. Celebrating BACnet’s 20 years as an ANSI standard and 10 years as an ISO standard, the roadshow highlights the migration from proprietary systems to open standards in building automation.

According to an ON World survey with over 1,000 U.S. adults, over a third believe they will have wireless sensors in their home within five years and 20 percent of the likely adopters expect to have 50 or more wireless sensors installed within the next five years.

Amzur Technologies Inc. announced that it has released eNOS, an open source, cloud-based energy dashboard that collects, stores, processes, and presents energy use data — including HVAC energy usage — in real-time.

Ice Energy announced that it has been awarded 16 contracts from Southern California Edison (SCE) to provide 25.6 megawatts of behind-the-meter thermal energy storage using its proprietary Ice Bear ice energy storage system.

The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) announced that its Construction Backlog Indicator (CBI) reached a new all-time high during the third quarter of 2014 at 8.8 months, eclipsing the previous all-time high of 8.5 months set in the second quarter of 2014.

Wireless controls can be used to link devices found in a variety of building systems, including HVAC, lighting, fire and life safety, and security and access. In addition, they often provide networked control in buildings or areas where wired controls are simply too challenging or expensive to install, notes Navigant Research.
