Carrier has announced the latest group of dealers to be inducted into its Dealer Hall of Fame. Established to recognize dealers who set and maintain the highest standards in customer service and loyalty to the Carrier brand, this award is the culmination of years of outstanding work, said the company.

Ice Energy announced it has been awarded a five-year contract from Riverside Public Utilities to provide 5 megawatts of behind-the-meter thermal energy storage using Ice Energy’s proprietary Ice Bear system. The program will kick off this spring.

Toshiba Corp. and United Technologies Corp. have announced plans to establish engineering centers in North America, Europe, and India to support localized development of HVAC products. This cooperation is the first to result from their agreement to strengthen their collaboration through their joint venture, Toshiba Carrier Corp.

ABB and Doosan Fuel Cell, a Connecticut-based provider of fuel cell power systems, announced that the two companies have extended their partnership agreement through 2016. Switzerland-based ABB is supplying specialized electrical modules that serve as the control system for the Doosan fuel cell power plants.

Distech Controls Inc., a supplier of building automation and energy management solutions, announced that it has entered into an agreement to be acquired by Acuity Brands Inc., a leading provider of intelligent lighting solutions. 

Aeroseal has introduced HomeSeal PRO, designed with wireless technology and new remote management capabilities, which the company said can significantly increase residential duct sealing productivity and profitability.

Ingersoll-Rand plc announced that it has completed the acquisition of FRIGOBLOCK. The transaction was closed for €100 million. FRIGOBLOCK manufactures and designs transport refrigeration units for trucks and trailers in Europe, primarily sold in Northern Europe. 

enVerid Systems announced that it has received Frost & Sullivan’s 2015 North American HVAC Technology Innovation Award for its HVAC Load Reduction (HLR) solution. Frost & Sullivan recognized enVerid’s HLR system for its ability to deliver substantial energy savings by solving a major cause of HVAC energy waste in commercial buildings.

Heating, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) member Karen Madonia, chief financial officer of ILLCO Inc., joined two others representing small businesses and farms to testify before a House Ways and Means Committee hearing and urge Congress to pass the Death Tax Repeal Act of 2015.
