The global air purification systems market was valued at $12.06 billion in 2015 and is projected to reach $24.83 billion by 2024 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.4 percent from 2016 to 2024, according to a report from Transparency Market Research.

The global dehumidifier market is forecast to achieve record sales worth $3.1 billion by 2021, according to a report released by TechSci Research, a research based global management consulting firm. 

A team of engineers at Michigan State University is working to perfect a new technology that not only warns of a problem with indoor air, but also identifies the source of the IAQ problem and offers suggestions on how to remedy the situation.

AAF Europe has acquired Dinair Group AB, one of Sweden’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of air filters. Dinair, established in 1982, emphasizes balanced filtration solutions and has a history of developing its own products.

The Sterling Group, a middle market private equity firm, has completed the acquisition of PoolPak International LLC. PoolPak is a leading manufacturer of dehumidification systems for large athletic pools, natatoriums in schools and universities, commercial pools and hotel/motel leisure pools.

An HVAC technology developed by researchers at the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) has won one of this year’s R&D 100 Awards. The winning technology is called “HVAC Load Reduction Technology for Commercial Buildings.”

Boston Properties Inc., a real estate investment trust, and co-development partner, Hines, announced that Salesforce Tower is now the tallest building in San Francisco and will soon be the tallest office building west of Chicago. It features an HVAC system that will distribute outdoor air to each floor.
