Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin recently signed S 202, a bill that enables Vermont to encourage the installation of high-efficiency geothermal heat pumps.

The program targets homeowners looking to upgrade their HVAC systems with little or no upfront cost and low monthly payments spread over a much longer payback period than most other financing options.

The unit offers up to 30,000 Btu, a 1,000-square-inch viewing area, multiple firebox configurations, and electronic ignition with battery backup. 

The unit’s patent pending Q-Mode technology reuces hot water operating costs by providing fulltime, year-round domestic hot water heating at over 500 percent (5.0 COP) efficiency. 

The company coordinated the recall with the Consumer Product Safety Commission and is offering free repairs for all consumers with an impacted unit.

As the company celebrates its 75^th anniversary, it is no longer in survival mode and is more focused on continued, long-term success.
