The annual Lennox Home Energy Report Card survey found that 98 percent of homeowners are trying to conserve energy in some fashion, to either help save money and/or protect the environment. Half of homeowners (50 percent) gave their household a “B” when grading their household energy efficiency.
Smart Thermostat Will Integrate with HEMS Platform to Boost Utility Residential Efficiency Programs

Carrier has teamed with CEIVA Energy, a utility-controlled home energy management system (HEMS) provider, to develop a new way for homeowners to improve energy efficiency.
Sales of air-source heat pumps used to be concentrated primarily in the Southern U.S., but that is changing as consumers become more aware of their energy-saving capabilities. In fact, in many markets, it may be more cost-effective to use an air-source heat pump for the majority of a homeowner’s heating and cooling needs.
According to a survey of those who attended the 2014 AHR Expo, 41 percent of the more than 2,000 respondents said they came to the expo seeking products related to renewable energy resources.
