Poor IAQ can impact our daily lives by triggering or exacerbating respiratory problems and allergies, potentially worsening existing health conditions or affecting our long-term health.
Sensibo produces smart heating and cooling devices and IAQ monitoring products, allowing users to control their heating and cooling equipment with artificial intelligence, data, and sensors, while taking advantage of air quality data to optimize equipment use and reduce energy consumption.
The platform adjusts air-change rates based on continuously monitored particle levels. Airflow is optimized when particle levels are low and increased as levels rise.

Excessive moisture is a common problem in commercial and residential buildings alike. It could be from a leaking roof, a burst pipe, a flash flood, or even poor ventilation.
This year’s Student Design Competition focused on the design of a new laboratory building: a large single-story building with a rooftop penthouse located in Cairo, Egypt. In the Setty Family Foundation Applied Engineering Challenge, students designed a portable IAQ health meter to detect contaminants in spaces and display the levels of different toxins.
