Company Completed 99.5 Percent of Testing on First Samples

Intertek is reporting high completion rates for the 2014 tests assigned to it for the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) Certification Programs. Over the course of the year, Intertek completed 2,757 total tests on HVAC products and completed 99.5 percent of testing on first samples.

The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) has announced a new certification program for active chilled beams. AHRI said the Active Chilled Beams (ACB) program is its 44th performance certification program for the HVACR and water heating industry.

The Clifford H. “Ted” Rees Jr. Scholarship Foundation, a charitable foundation of the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), has announced the recipients of $32,900 in scholarship funds to 18 students and veterans studying to become technicians in the HVACR and water heating industry, as well as one instructor.
In an effort to make it easier for technicians to install, service, diagnose, and troubleshoot HVACR equipment, ACCA’s Board of Directors adopted a motion “to implore the manufacturers of HVAC equipment to develop and implement open [nonproprietary], universal, onboard diagnostic [OBD] communication protocols.”
