The world’s top-performing companies are prioritizing sustainability as part of their corporate social responsibility efforts, and a majority of them are using the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program to achieve their goals, according to a new survey released by the USGBC.

The USGBC LEED green building rating system has strong bipartisan support across the U.S., according to a recently released poll, conducted by Echelon Insights. 

The 24,037-square-foot facility, which houses classrooms and meeting space for hydronic training and educational purposes, achieved 62 points out of a total of 79 possible points for LEED Gold.

The USGBC released its annual list of the Top 10 States for LEED, ranking states in terms of square feet of LEED space per state resident.

The Taco Innovation and Development Center (IDC), which opened in mid-2012, has been awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
