Bosch DC Microgrid Said to Enable a Simpler Way to Achieve Net Zero Energy

The California Energy Commission (CEC) has announced a proposed award to Robert Bosch LLC for $2,817,566 to demonstrate a high-penetration, renewable-based microgrid. With this award, Bosch will demonstrate the effectiveness of its Direct-Current Building-Scale Microgrid Platform (Bosch DC microgrid).
The code change is part of the state’s Title 24 regulations implemented July 1, 2014, and while the rule is not a complete ban on the use of bypass ducts, it greatly limits their usage in newly constructed residential buildings.
California Energy Commission Allows Additional Six Months for Compliance

At its Dec. 11 meeting, the California Energy Commission (CEC) voted to push back the effective date for the 2013 Building Energy Efficiency Standards, also known as Title 24, from Jan. 1, 2014, to July 1, 2014.
