BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Television celebrity Ed McMahon has agreed to a settlement totaling $7.2 million with his homeowners insurance company, insurance adjusters, mold remediation contractors, and others over his lawsuit alleging that mold in his home here made he and his wife ill and contributed to the death of their dog.
In his suit filed in April of last year, McMahon stated that a water pipe had burst in his den and the resulting water damage was not properly handled and cleaned up by his insurance company and the contractors hired, leading to mold in the home.
According to court records, which were made public, the settlement involved more than half a dozen companies.
