Jan. 6, 2006: Industry Hits Record As November Shipments Rise 68 Percent

ARLINGTON, Va. - Combined U.S. factory shipments of 629,583 central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps for November 2005 were up 68 percent compared to shipments from the same month of 2004, according to Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) statistics. Total shipments of 8,016,756 units for the first 11 months of 2005 are 15 percent ahead of the same period of 2004, and are already a record number for the year.
Heat pump shipments for November of 168,960 were up 45 percent compared to November 2004. The year-to-date total of 1,972,400 is up 12 percent from January-November 2004.
November distributor shipments were up 60 percent from November 2004, with year-to-date shipments up 15 percent.
