The platform of Scroll Digital™ compressors has been extended to include 8- and 10-hp digital scroll compressors. The digital scroll technology provides variable-capacity modulation and can be used for commercial applications with widely varying loads and a need to maintain precise temperature and humidity control. The compressor offers a way to modulate the capacity of the compressor from 10 percent to 100 percent, so that the output matches the changing cooling demand of the room. This approach to capacity modulation is capable of holding a precise temperature to within 0.5°F. The Scroll Digital features a modulation controller that protects the compressor by automatically shutting it down if potentially harmful system problems are detected. The compressors are offered in R-22 and R-407C versions.
