WASHINGTON - Joe Orosz, president of Danfoss Turbocor Compressors Inc. provided opening comments at the United States Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) 2005 ClimateTech 2005 event held May 4 in Washington.

"The U.S. EPA's ‘Responsible Use' vision has provided invaluable direction and clarity to the design of our products," Orosz said.

The EPA's vision is outlined in the EPA brochure entitled, "Building Owners: Save Money, Save the Earth." It encourages manufacturers, owners, and system designers to invest in those technologies that provide the highest efficiency and lowest emissions on a sustainable basis and where performance can be documented on an ongoing basis. "Responsible Use" also underscores the importance of owners investing in life-cycle cost purchases that meet sound investment criteria - investing in technologies that are good for business and the environment.

The EPA has promoted responsible use for nearly four years, but today's ever-increasing energy prices, coupled with the role of energy conservation in reducing dependence on foreign oil, makes the message even more vital, the agency stated.
